What Is Titan Fitness?

Titan Fitness is a name that keeps popping up in the world of home gyms. So, who are they exactly?

Titan Fitness is a company that’s carved out a niche for itself in the gym equipment industry, especially known for catering to the budget-conscious crowd.

They offer a wide range of gym equipment, from barbells and dumbbells to power racks and cardio machines.

What sets Titan apart is their focus on affordability without sacrificing all the essentials you need for a solid workout.

They’ve become a go-to for many home gym builders who want to stretch their dollar further.

Most of their products are manufactured in China, which is a big reason they can keep their prices lower than some competitors.

But here’s the thing – while they’re budget-friendly, they’re not always the top pick for commercial-grade quality.

If you’re setting up a home gym and need reliable equipment that won’t break the bank, Titan is a brand worth considering.

Just keep in mind, they might not be the best fit if you’re opening a commercial gym with heavy daily usage.

Recent Upgrades – Titan Fitness Stepping Up Their Game

Now, let’s talk about how Titan Fitness has been upping their game recently.

It’s no secret that in the past, some of their products were hit or miss.

But I’ve been noticing a shift, and it’s definitely worth mentioning.

Titan has been putting a lot more effort into refining their product quality.

Take their barbells and benches, for example.

They’ve rolled out new designs and improvements that are seriously impressive, especially considering their price point.

It’s like they’ve taken the feedback from users like us and actually put it to work.

Their Titan Series barbells have been getting some good buzz.

They’re showing that Titan can compete with higher-end brands in terms of both durability and performance.

And it’s not just about being sturdy; these barbells have a feel and finish that you’d expect from more expensive brands.

The adjustable benches are another area where Titan has made significant strides. The latest models are more stable and offer better ergonomics.

Titan adjustable bench

This is a big deal for anyone serious about their training.

A stable bench is crucial for safety and effectiveness, especially when you’re pushing your limits.

So, if you had Titan pegged as just a budget brand, it might be time to give them another look.

They’re proving that good quality doesn’t always have to come with a high price tag.

Pros

First up, we’re going to go over the pros of Titan and why I think they’ve definitely got some things going for them.

Not every little aspect of a company will be good or bad necessarily.

That’s why it’s important to weigh the positives and the negatives to make good investment decisions.

Reasonable Price + Free Shipping

One of the first things you’ll notice if you check out Titans’ website is that they actually offer Free Shipping all year round, with no exceptions.

Shipping can be costly on things like weights, a power rack, and pretty much all equipment.

That’s why this is a great deal and something you should definitely consider.

Titan fitness shipping breakdown

On top of that, Titan is considered one of the best budget options compared to places like Walmart and Dicks Sporting Goods.

Unlike them, there’s a huge community of people online who have heard firsthand how great some of Titan’s deals have to offer.

titan safety squat bar v2 in rack

Look how cheap this Safety Squat Bar is and realize that the quality is much higher than Amazon’s bullshit.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that everything they sell at lower prices is worth it.

Other companies like Rep have more competitive pricing for a much higher value.

I’ll go over more of that later when we get to the cons of Titan.

Perfect For A Garage Gym

If you’re interested in getting above-average equipment for your home gym and aren’t planning on squatting over 600 lbs in your lifetime, Titan is perfectly reasonable and works just fine for what you get.

If you built an entire home or garage gym using Titan only for a couple of people to use, you’re going to get a ton of value.

Typical titan equipment

If you’re planning on building a commercial-grade gym, there are definitely better options, which I’ll go over later.

In general, though, for people looking to build a gym for the most reasonable price possible without being absolutely junk, Titan is the best you’re gonna get.

Let’s finish up with the warranty that Titan includes with all of its gym equipment!

Great Warranty

They offer a 1-year warranty on all equipment. It’s probably a great failsafe considering that some of their gym equipment might not survive general wear and tear.

titan fitness warranty gurantee

From what I can tell, this warranty will cover almost everything you buy from Titan. This is definitely a plus considering some of the backlash they get for shipping quality and other issues I’ll be going over right now!

Cons

Titan does have a lot of good things going for them.

If you have a small budget, they offer a ton of gym equipment at a much lower price than can be found almost anywhere.

Unfortunately, that means they have to cut some corners to offer so many budget products.

Let’s go over the main problems that people have with Titan now.

Quality Control Issues

I’ve seen many threads and forums going over all the problems they have with Titans’ equipment.

The majority of which is on Reddit. Which I think is the largest hangout of humanity’s worst I’ve ever seen.

The number of toxic individuals I’ve seen on Reddit is absolutely insane, and I try not to frequent their threads as much as I can.

Often, going to Reddit will tell you every little issue the population has with literally any topic, series, or product in this case.

The majority of the threads I’ve read about Titans’ Quality control aren’t the best, unfortunately.

Titan j hook broke in half

Yeah, that’s what it looks like, a J Hook that broke in half. Kind of important if you want to live.

Often, the bolts they sent aren’t the right size, or they don’t send them all, and you’re stuck with half a power rack, and the pullup bar isn’t welded properly.

Or worse, you get half of the bench, tell them they only sent half a bench, and they send you the half you already had, and all the bolts are wrong.

This is what happened to me when I bought their adjustable v1 bench.

Also, just a side note, don’t buy anything from Titan that’s the first version of the product.

The bench, glute-ham raise, and safety squat bar I bought all might have been cheaper, but the second version fixed all the problems I’ve had with them up until now.

Especially the safety squat bar that is the best budget option on the market!

Just a precaution for you guys, they tend to do really well once they get feedback from the community, but the first time they seem to miss the mark.

Now moving on, while their QC isn’t the best, their shipping is fast from what most people have reported.

Which is both good and bad, as I’ll explain now.

Customer Service & Shipping Problems

Titan customer service is sometimes great, and other times it’s just the absolute worst.

And remember how I said their fast and free shipping is positive?

Well, there are literally hundreds of testimonials stating all of the issues others have had. From their packaging being destroyed, pieces missing from the box, and other problems in general.

titan fitness shipping issues

There are tons of these reviews all over the internet. At the same time, there are just as many people that have purchased from them that haven’t had a single issue so your results may vary.

One of the first Titan products I bought was their original Incline Bench and the box was completely destroyed and barely held together.

It was also impossible to put together! Half of the bench was missing, and all of the hardware was nowhere to be found.

After contacting customer service, they sent me the same half of the bench and only half of the hardware needed.

I talked to them one more time, and I finally received everything.

The best part is that after putting everything together, the bench itself is wobbly, and it’s almost impossible to adjust it correctly. I have to hit the bench a couple of times to make sure it locks into place.

The funniest part about this is that their new version of this bench addresses all of these problems.

So as you can see, even I’ve had issues with their shipping, customer service, and quality control as well.

However, when you buy the right equipment, and they’re on their best A-game, Titan can make some things happen sometimes.

Maybe not every time, but it’s almost like their motto that I just made up, “Titan Fitness. It just works. Sometimes.”

Okay, all kidding aside, let’s go over the biggest issue people have with Titan.

What Do Others Think Of Titan?

There are a bunch of people online – home gym owners and content creators alike, that either love or hate Titan.

Sure, there are definitely some that just find them average.

If you’re a commercial or big box gym owner and have tons of members clanging and banging every day of the week, you need equipment built to last.

I Hate Titan Fitness - Racks & Bench Review

Alan Thrall, a fellow YouTuber, and Powerlifter has some strong words about Titan.

I definitely agree with most of what he says in that video.

Since he owns his own facility, Untamed Strength, he definitely has first-hand knowledge about what gym equipment is going to get the job done.

On the flip side, for average home gym owners who train a couple of times per week, Titan offers the best budget gym equipment on the market.

So naturally, many of you interested in building a gym with smaller budgets are going to love Titan.

Coop from Garage Gym Reviews goes over this by actually directly responding to Alan Thrall’s video I linked about.

And if there’s anybody that knows more about quality gym equipment, it’s Garage Gym Reviews as that’s literally what they do!

It’s important to hear both the pros and cons before deciding on what equipment is right for your home gym.

Who Should Invest In Titan Fitness Equipment?

Titan is ideal for anyone who wants to set up a home gym on a budget.

Whether you are a professional athlete, a fitness enthusiast, or a beginner, Titan has something for everyone.

If you are serious about weightlifting and strength training, Titan is a perfect investment.

Their products, such as barbells, dumbbells, and power racks, are designed to withstand heavy use and provide the support you need to lift heavier weights safely.

Moreover, Titan is also suitable for those who want to improve their cardiovascular health.

They offer a range of cardio equipment, including treadmills, exercise bikes, and rowing machines, which are great for burning calories and improving your cardiovascular endurance.

In addition, Titan is also an excellent choice for those who want to set up a home gym.

They offer affordable and durable equipment, such as a power rack, iron or rubber bumper plates, and benches, that can help you get started on your fitness journey without breaking the bank.

Ultimately, anyone who is looking for high-quality, durable, and affordable fitness equipment can benefit from investing in Titan.

It’s important to do your research and ensure that the equipment you purchase meets your specific fitness needs and goals.

Who Shouldn’t Invest In Titan Fitness Equipment?

While Titan Fitness equipment is an excellent choice for many people looking for durable and affordable fitness equipment, some individuals may not find it suitable for their needs.

Firstly, if you are someone who is looking for top-of-the-line, premium fitness equipment, Titan may not be the best choice.

While their equipment is durable and affordable, it isn’t as high quality as others such as Rep and Rogue.

Secondly, if you are someone who requires specialized or custom fitness equipment, Titan may not be able to provide you with the specific equipment you need.

They offer a wide range of products, but if you have specific requirements, you may need to look for equipment from specialized manufacturers.

guy from friends telling you not to do it

Thirdly, if you are someone who is looking for very lightweight or portable fitness equipment, Titan Fitness may not be the best option.

Their equipment is designed to be durable and stable, which means that it may be heavier and less portable than some other brands’ equipment.

Lastly, if you are someone who is not committed to their fitness goals, and simply looking for a cheap or temporary solution, Titan may not be the best option.

It’s essential to invest in high-quality equipment that will support your fitness goals and last for a long time.

In conclusion, while Titan is suitable for most people looking for durable and affordable fitness equipment, those who require specialized equipment, lightweight and portable equipment, or premium features may need to look elsewhere.

Titan Fitness Vs. Rogue Fitness

This is a pretty simple answer depending on your budget and what type of gym you’re outfitting.

If you have a small budget and you’re planning on building a gym to train a couple of times per week, Titan is great.

If you have a much higher budget and want to build a gym for tons of members, Rogue is the industry standard you should be getting.

They offer much higher quality at a premium price, so you know that your equipment will last forever.

They also have a much larger category than Titan, so if you’re interested in learning more about them – check out my review here!

Titan Fitness Vs. Rep Fitness

While Titan has some great budget options, the quality and pricing from Rep are incredibly competitive.

Not only do they have some of my favorite racks and benches on the market, but they offer some of the best add-ons for their equipment as well.

Pretty much any power rack you get from them can be customized for any gym.

You can add specialty pullup bars, different colors on your uprights and cross-members, built-in pulldown and belt squat systems, as well as iso lever arms that allow you to do machine-based alternatives for even more variety.

And this is just the tip of the iceberg of what Rep has to offer.

Their plates, including their bumper plates are very cheap, and they’re constantly updating their catalog.

If you want a great medium ground between Titan and Rogue with some of the best value you can get, Rep Fitness is the best in the business

Budget Options To Consider Other Than Titan Fitness

When it comes to setting up a home gym on a budget, Titan Fitness isn’t your only option.

There are several other brands out there that offer great value for money. Let’s talk about a few alternatives that you might want to consider.

First up, there’s Rep Fitness. They’re known for their solid build quality and competitive pricing.

Their power racks and benches are particularly popular among home gym owners.

What I like about Rep is their attention to detail and the variety they offer, especially if you’re looking for something a bit more specialized.

Then there’s Fringe Sport. They’re another brand that offers some excellent budget-friendly options.

Their bumper plates and barbells are a hit for those who are into Olympic lifting or general strength training.

The best part? They often have sales and deals, which makes their already reasonable prices even more attractive.

Don’t forget about Rogue Fitness. Yes, they’re generally more expensive, but they have some items in the ‘Echo’ line that are more budget-friendly.

Rogue is synonymous with quality, and even their lower-priced items are built to last. It’s worth checking out their clearance section for deals.

Lastly, Amazon and Walmart can be surprisingly good sources for budget gym equipment.

While you need to be discerning about the quality, you can find some gems, especially for basic items like dumbbells, kettlebells, and yoga mats.

Remember, the key is to balance cost with quality. Cheaper isn’t always better, especially when it comes to durability and safety.

  1. They had a rickshaw under scratch and dent. Cost was 130 bucks and I jumped on it. Delivery was quick packaging was terrible but it was just regular box and equipment was wrapped in plastic. All pieces present took 10 minutes put together and not a scratch or dent anywhere. I will be ordering plates next.

  2. Yep, that packaging sounds a lot like Titan unfortunately but it sounds like you got a great deal regardless! They have solid plates so I’m sure you’ll love them!
