Is Rep Fitness A Good Brand? – Best Rep Fitness Equipment In 2021

REP Fitness AB-5200 Adjustable Bench Review - Best Value On The Market!

Rep Fitness is one of my favorite companies when it comes to quality training equipment.

They’re very similar to Rogue, who I covered in my last article on Rogue’s best equipment.

They have cheap plates, incredibly priced benches, and their racks are absolutely fantastic as well.

They’re also higher quality than Titan Fitness. If you want something that’s a great middle-ground between Rogue and Titan, Rep Fitness is what you want to get.

So, is Rep Fitness a good brand and company overall?

Absolutely!

They have competitive prices while also providing incredible value with the quality of their equipment.

If you want a more budget-friendly option, though, I would still go with Titan Fitness as suggested in my Titan buying guide.

While I think Rep Fitness is a great brand, they have positives and negatives just like anybody else.

So today, I’ll cover Reps’ pros and cons as well as what I think their best pieces of equipment are.

PROS

Constantly Developing New Accessories

Rep Fitness has some incredible racks that they’re known for. Between the PR-1000 to the PR-5000 series, they have something to offer for everybody.

While they only had a couple of accessories for them at the start, they’ve expanded their lineup consistently.

The main pieces that I’m interested in are:

  •  Their REP ISO Arms allows you to do many machine-based alternatives, which is an incredible addition that adds tons of variation to a home gym.
  • Their Belt Squat and Lat Pulldown/Cable Row attachments allow you to do belt squats if you have issues squatting with a bar on your back. And obviously, having a cable stack for pulldowns and rows is essential for a garage gym as well.

These allow you to get a complete gym setup built right into the rack, which will allow for a variety of barbell, machine, and cable movements. With these basics out of the way, so you can train for any goal you might possibly have.

Screenshot 2021 01 26 Rack Attachments Strength

On top of that, they continue to improve and expand their accessory options.

This is a solid reason to invest in them. They allow for constant future upgradeability, which is a huge plus.

Especially for those of you on tight budgets as you can slowly upgrade over time.

Best Value Benches On The Market

A lot of the adjustable benches sold on Amazon have great prices. Unfortunately, the equipment is honestly garbage in comparison to what Rep Fitness has to offer.

They aren’t made with high-quality steel for the most part, and they also have spotty welds, which are dangerous.

Above all else, they shake and aren’t stable to press heavyweights on whatsoever.

Screenshot 2021 01 26 Weight Benches Adjustable Flat Benches REP Fitness 1

Rep Fitness provides the best value while also building benches with 11-gauge and stronger steel at a fraction of the price of Rogue.

Finding well made adjustable benches that aren’t overpriced isn’t easy. Luckily, any of REP’s benches fit the bill.

I’ll show you why they’re so great in the equipment section later.

Rogue Level Quality But Cheaper

A lot of the equipment that Rep Fitness sells is just as good as Rogues when it comes to quality. However, it tends to be much cheaper.

Like my point before, Rogues’ cheapest adjustable bench is their Adjustable Bench 2.0, which is around $545, REP’s MOST expensive adjustable bench, the AB-5200 Adjustable Bench, is $449.

Screenshot 2021 01 26 Rogue Adjustable Bench 2 0

This is practically $100 cheaper with almost identical specs. Compared to Rogues’ most expensive adjustable Bench, the AB-3 Adjustable Bench is $935, a $500 difference between the two.

You could get a rack, barbell, plates, and a flat bench from REP for the price of Rogues’ AB-3 Bench. Definitely not a good value at all compared to Rep Fitness.

If you want the best equipment at the best value, you should absolutely go with REP Fitness.

Here’s what one individual had to say about REP Fitness!

“If I were to try and consolidate everything:

  • Rogue makes top-of-line products for top-of-line pricing (cry once, buy once)
  • Rep Fitness offers great products with negligible quality differences at much cheaper prices.
  • If you want accessories, go with the Rogue; if not, go with Rep.”

Basically, if you want to get the absolute best equipment regardless of the price, you can buy Rogues’ products. I go over their best equipment in my Rogue Fitness buying guide if you want to see what they have to offer.

Suppose you want a good budget option that offers free shipping with solid quality. In that case, you can go for Titan Fitness as they’re the cheapest you can get without skimping on quality.

Finally, if you want the absolute best value possible, Rep Fitness is the best middle ground you can get. They offer incredible equipment with very high quality, similar to Rogue. However, they provide better-priced products depending on what you’re looking for.

Rep Fitness is the real deal and will always be my go-to recommendation for the best value possible. So long as they continue what they’ve been doing, I doubt that will change.

Great Customer Service

Customer Service is always going to be a determining factor when you decide to invest in any product.

Suppose a company doesn’t try to help their customers with any problems. In that case, they will eventually move onto a company that does.

If all you have are quality products without good customer service, you’re going to lose business.

Luckily, while Rep Fitness has excellent equipment, their customer service is just as great!

Here’s a testimonial I found where Rep Fitness helped their customer out as is expected.

Another thing I forgot to mention is that their customer service is great I bought the FB-5000 when it was sold out, I sent them an email asking when they would be back in stock, and gave me an exact date of when they would be back in stock, but they also gave me an option to pre-order, so I wouldn’t have to worry about them being sold out again, all I had to do was give them a call which is what I did. Now that I think about it, I think I got the bench like a week before they were back in stock.”

This is awesome as keeping equipment in stock is something most companies have had issues with in 2020 and beyond.

Hoping and waiting for in-stock notifications can be a pain, so having the option to pre-order is a fantastic way to help customers.

Here’s one more review that I’ve found that’s a little longer but shows how Rip Fitness goes above and beyond.

“I’ve got their flat bench (awesome), a few pairs of bumpers, and their farmer’s handles. I never had any issue aside from a bit of shipping damage, and it’s not even their fault. The farmer’s handles shipped with a pair of collars for each implement. When I got the package, one of the collars was broken. They were shipped on the bars, and one of the release clasps was broken. I contacted them to just let them know that it might be a better idea to ship the collars in a little box inside the box instead because the freight guys beat up the package pretty bad. They responded in less than a day, saying that a new pair of collars was already on the way, and thanks for the suggestion. I didn’t NEED the collars, so I hadn’t even asked for a new one, and they went ahead and hooked me up. Great products, prices, and top-notch customer service.”

As you can see, even though this individual didn’t even request it, they still replaced the collars with no questions asked.

I’ve heard stories of companies making a big deal out of something so cheap and trivial to replace.

But as you can see, Rep Fitness takes care of their customers while also offering incredible products.

Definitely, a good brand if you ask me!

CONS

Shipping Prices

It’s a horrible fact of life that all of the best equipment will have shipping prices. Rogue has high shipping costs, and so does Rep, unfortunately.

Places like Amazon and Titan Fitness offer free shipping on their budget options, which is one major point to consider when investing in equipment.

In Reps’ case, it seems that the more money you spend, the cheaper the shipping prices are.

Here are two examples below.

The first is 2 35-lb sets of Reps Black Bumper Plates, which is around $198.

Screenshot 2021 01 26 Checkout
With UPS Ground shipping it costs around 50% of the total price of the weights.

If you order with Estes Freight, it will cost around $280, which is horrible, obviously. I don’t know about you, but I’m never going to spend more on shipping than the price of the actual product I’m buying. It makes no sense at all, and I can’t actually see how this is the norm.

Going for the cheaper option is R&L Freight, which is around $150 shipping. A little better but still pretty expensive, honestly. This is about 2/3rds of the price, which is just okay.

Finally, if you go with UPS Ground shipping, it’ll only cost around $105, which is less than 50% of the plates, much better than the last two Freight options.

That’s definitely the option that I would go with, and since they’re heavy-duty iron plates, I wouldn’t worry too much about how much UPS will probably bang them up.

However, comparing this to some of Rogue and all of Titan’s shipping, it’s definitely much more expensive.

Titan Fitness has free shipping on ALL of their equipment, which is a considerable saving regardless of what others might think.

On the other hand, Rogue offers several shipping offers that save you a ton of money.

Some of these can be found below.

  • 3 Ships Free. This one is simple, any items with the “3 Ships Free Item” icon will ship free.
  • Free Barbell Shipping With Purchase Of Bumper Set. There are many qualifying barbells and bumper plate sets that you can get free shipping on the barbell for, saving a decent amount.
  • Free Shipping. There’s a bunch of things that Rogue sells that offers Free Shipping on them. If you see the free shipping icon, you get free shipping, no questions asked.
  • Buy A Rig & Everything Ships Free. This one is an insane deal that you should definitely consider. If you purchase any Monster or Monster Lite Rigs, all of the items in that order will include free shipping. This only excludes a couple of things like other Rigs. Still, in general, you’ll get free shipping on your benches, accessories, plates, barbells, and anything else you can imagine—crazy deal.
  • $5K Ships Free. This one is simple as well; all orders totaling over $5000 will include free shipping. If you have a big order, you might as well buy it all at once and save hundreds on shipping. Pretty insane value here!

As you can see, if you want better shipping prices, it might be better to go with Rogue or Titan Fitness.

That being said, Rep Fitness is still worth it, but I recommend you buy as much stuff that you need at once. That way, you save on shipping and even get quality equipment as well.

Here’s a final example of Reps’ discounted shipping the more that you buy. I set up a shopping cart with over $2,000 worth of equipment, including a bar, a rack, and a flat bench.

Untitled design33

As you can see, these Freight Shipping costs average between $150-280 depending on which one you choose. They don’t have a UPS Ground option for this as it obviously requires Freight shipping for the size of this order.

I definitely think it’s flawed, and they could probably do something about their shipping. However, $2000 of equipment shipped for less than $300 depending on what option you choose is still a pretty awesome deal, all things considered.

Hopefully, this section doesn’t dissuade you from buying equipment from Rep. Still, I want to be as transparent as possible for your guys’ benefit.

Out Of Stock and In-Stock Notifications Are Kind Of A Mess

This past year has been hard for everybody, including equipment companies selling out like crazy and always being out of stock.

This isn’t really their fault, as this pandemic has thrown everybody for a loop, and Rep Fitness is no exception.

Untitled design32
Here are just some of the in-stock etas that they have available. Unfortunately, a lot of people just aren’t having any luck getting any purchases locked in.

They’re doing their best and working as hard as they can to get stuff in stock that people are desperately in need of.

Namely, home gym equipment, of course!

Many complaints have flooded Reps’ Instagram page. This comment below is just an example of how harshly people judge them when they get impatient.

“I’ve been planning to drop a good chunk of money to equip my garage gym with some high-quality gear. After months of research, I decided to go with REP Fitness for their high quality/affordable racks, benches, plates, etc. Almost everything worth buying from their site is out of stock, which is sort of understandable due to COVID.

However, we’ve been dealing with COVID in the U.S.A. since March-ish (approx 9 months). REP still hasn’t provided any official in-stock notifications pre-purchase options. I’ve been trying to buy a rack and adjustable bench from their site for 5+ months now, and it doesn’t seem to matter how early in the day I check; I can’t lock any purchases down.

At the end of the day, I don’t care if I need to wait for a quality product, but I’m not going to put in work every day for a small chance of buying a product that I can get elsewhere, especially when the leadership at this company clearly hasn’t prioritized getting business from new customers. They must see stock selling out and think they are winning, but many new customers are turning to other options…”

This comment goes on for a while, and I definitely understand their frustration, as I’m sure many of you do.

Stuffs out of stock, you keep checking in, signing up for in-stock notifications, and you just can’t buy anything for months on end.

While this sucks, this isn’t going to be permanent. The world will recover eventually, and companies like Rep are doing their best to weather it with us.

If you don’t want to wait for Reps’ equipment, that’s totally fine, and I get it. I’m sure they do too.

So while it does suck not being able to buy any equipment from Rep, there’s not much we can do but be patient. If that’s not an option, just buy from Rogue, Titan, or any of their competitors.

Rep Fitness will continue making money regardless. After all, tons of people are just waiting to get their hands on Reps’ excellent equipment.

Now that you know about Rep Fitness as a brand let’s go over my top equipment recommendations they have to offer!

Best Rep Fitness Equipment In 2021

Rep Fitness has some truly great equipment; considering just how great their prices are, it’s actually surprising just how much value they provide.

Whether you’re looking for a new barbell, plates, or kettlebells, REP has you covered!

Where they really shine is their power racks and benches. All of their racks have incredible build quality, with new accessories being created each year.

The benches they offer are an incredible value as well! All of their benches are built with heavy gauge steel and won’t be overpriced like some of Rogues’ are.

That being said, let’s go over the best equipment that Rep Fitness has to offer, starting with their barbells!

Rep Fitness Barbells

Rep Fitness is known for their racks, but they also have some great barbells as well! Just like my Rogue guide, I’ll be going over their best Olympic, Powerlifting, and Multipurpose Bars, as well as the budget options they have available.

Olympic Barbells

As explained in my previous guides, Olympic Bars will be more expensive for a few reasons.

  1. They require a balance of flexibility and durability to allow for better execution of the Olympic lifts. They basically need more whip and have to survive a lifetime of dropping the weight from overhead positions.
  2. They also need smooth rotating sleeves constructed from usually expensive needle bearings.

These major factors are necessary to qualify as a quality Olympic lifting bar. Luckily, REP has some solid options, as you’ll soon see!

Best – REP Stainless Steel Gladiator WL Barbell

Best REP Olympic Bar
REP Stainless Steel Gladiator WL Barbell

The popular REP Gladiator Olympic Barbell, now offered in stainless steel. The bar is made with a full stainless steel shaft and sleeves for the ultimate in performance and feel, combining the grip of bare steel, with the maintenance-free ease of stainless.

The best Olympic Lifting Bar that Rep Fitness sells is the stainless steel Gladiator Weightlifting Bar.

As explained in my Rogue equipment guide, stainless steel offers a superior feel and performance. On top of that, it’s also maintenance-free steel that won’t chip and rust.

This bar is also rated for 1500 Ibs, has 5 needle bearings in each sleeve, and has medium depth knurl. This gives you a solid grip on the barbell without tearing up your hands like a more aggressive knurl.

You can check out REPs’ Stainless Steel Gladiator Weightlifting Bar here.

Runner Up – REP Technique Bar

Budget REP Olympic Bar
REP Technique Bar

Our 15 lb aluminum technique barbell is ideal for working on Olympic weightlifting technique. This bar fits on standard width Olympic power rack and is best paired up with our 5 lb REP Technique training plates!

Buy Now Learn More

The REP Technique Bar only weighs 15 lbs, with a weight capacity of only 200 lbs. But that’s why it’s called a technique bar!

This is perfect for those who are just starting out with the Olympic lifts and want to dial in their technique before deciding to invest in a more expensive bar.

REP also has some more durable multipurpose Barbells if you can lift 135+ Ibs consistently on the Olympic lifts.

I’ll be going over those later if you want to get a hybrid bar instead of a pure weightlifting bar.

If you’re interested in a super cheap bar to work on your Olympic lifts, REP’s technique bar is what you want to get.

Powerlifting Bars

Our next section will be covering power bars. Powerlifting bars usually have more aggressive knurl, so you have less of a chance of losing your grip with super heavy loads.

They are also much stiffer than Olympic bars as they need to handle more weight. Adding to that, most have a center knurl to help with grip on your back for squats.

RELATED CONTENT  How Much Does An Olympic Barbell Weigh?

As you can see from this massive Squat from Eric Lilliebridge, squatting this much weight with anything other than a power bar isn’t a great idea as the whip can cause you to lose control.

You’ll also notice that they have single knurl markings that mark the maximum grip width for a competition bench press.

With that out of the way, let’s go over the best powerlifting bars that REP Fitness currently makes!

Best – REP Stainless Steel Power Bar V2

The best power bar that REP Fitness has to offer is the Stainless Steel Power Bar V2.

You guys know how awesome stainless steel bars are. It makes it easy to just lift without having to worry about regularly maintaining your bar to keep it in tip-top shape.

That’s only part of why REP’s Power Bar V2 is so incredible! It also has a medium depth that won’t tear up your hands with multiple sets, as is the case when training for strength and powerlifting in general.

This bar is also rated for 1500 Ibs and is 29mm, which provides extra stiffness.

If you want a bar with almost identical specs with a much deeper knurl, you could also check out their REP Deep Knurl Power Bar EX

REP Deep Knurl Power Bar EX

The REP stainless-steel deep knurl bar was designed with the experienced powerlifter in mind. This aggressive knurl pattern is cut deep into the uncoated stainless-steel shaft and kept sharp, providing you with a solid grip during your heaviest lifts. It is the combined effect of both the stainless steel and our deep cut knurl that gives you the best grip imaginable.

Both of these bars are amazing, so no matter what you pick, know that you’re getting a premium power bar with a nice stainless steel finish.

Runner Up – REP Basic Barbell

If you want an awesome budget option, the REP Basic Barbell is exactly that! This is the cheapest barbell I’ve seen on the market, but it easily outperforms everything you’ll find on Amazon in this price range.

Even Rogue’s boneyard bars are around $100 more, which is crazy considering how great a deal those are.

While this bar is only rated for 700 lbs, that is perfectly fine for most people. It also has a very basic chrome finish with a medium grip knurl.

If you’re just getting started with strength training and powerlifting, this bar will get the job done without breaking the bank!

Get the REP Basic Barbell here!

Multipurpose Bars

Multipurpose bars are intended to be used for powerlifting, Olympic lifting, CrossFit, and everything in between!

This makes them a true hybrid bar capable of doing it all. For most people, this is the route you should go with if you just plan on training to get stronger, build some muscle, and stay in shape.

If you’re looking into a bar that allows you to train for powerlifting, Crossfit, or even Olympic lifting, a multipurpose bar can do it all.

Plus, I think these hybrid bars from REP have the coolest names by far! You’ll see what I mean in a second!

Best – REP Excalibur Bar

The best multipurpose bar that REP offers also has the best name by far!

The REP Excalibur Bar!

See, told you they’re awesome.

The REP Excalibur Bar comes in multiple different variations depending on what you plan on using it for.

You can get it with a center knurl if you plan on squatting with it. You can also get it with no center knurl if you just want to deadlift with it.

Of course, you can also get it in stainless steel if you want a premium finish that requires no maintenance.

As the Excalibur Bar is hybrid by nature, it offers a unique blend of whip and rigidity for Olympic lifts as well as the Big 3.

This bar is rated for 1500 Ibs and has high-quality bushings that provide a solid spin and stability.

Being a multipurpose bar, the Excalibur Bar has a medium depth knurling for heavy lifts and higher reps alike.

All of this being said, the REP Excalibur Bar is the absolute best multipurpose bar that they currently sell.

If you want the best, this is it.

Runner Up – REP Sabre Bar

It should be hard to find a runner-up with a great name like the Excalibur Bar, right?

Not quite!

The runner-up bar that REP offers is the REP Sabre Bar! See, it’s sweet, told ya!

The REP Sabre Bar is one of the best selling bars that they make.

Just like the Excalibur Bar, the Sabre Bar has a few variations you can choose from.

They have a center knurl, no center knurl, and black zinc, my favorite bar finish.

This bar is an incredible value and allows you to do it all. If you want a budget bar that doesn’t perform like a budget bar, the Sabre Bar is what you want to get.

Rep Fitness Benches

Rep Fitness has some of the absolute best benches on the market with incredible prices as well.

If you check Amazon, you’ll find tons of flimsy adjustable and flat benches that have no stability whatsoever.

They’re cheap, and unfortunately, they’re cheaply made as well.

Reps benches don’t have this problem, however. They’re all incredibly well made, and their adjustable benches are priced competitively.

Let’s go over these awesome benches now!

Best Adjustable – REP AB-5200 Adjustable Bench

The best adjustable bench that Rep Fitness has to offer is the AB-5200 Adjustable Bench

The AB-5200 is the heaviest duty bench that Rep makes. It’s constructed of a combination of 11 and 7 gauge steel, so you know it’s built like a tank.

It also has 2″ wheels and a stainless steel handle for easy maneuverability.

You can even add on a spotter platform to assist with spotting bench press variations.

One of the best features is that it also has a grippy pad to prevent slipping while setting up for any movement you’re trying to do.

This Bench also has 7 adjustments ranging from 0, 15, 30, 45, 60, 75, and 85-degree angles.

Considering this Bench is rated at 1,000 lbs and is around $500 cheaper than Rogues most expensive adjustable bench, this is a huge steal that I definitely recommend.

Runner Up Adjustable – AB-3000 FID Adjustable Bench

The runner up adjustable bench that rep fitness sells is the AB-3000 FID Adjustable Bench

The AB-3000 is one of the best selling benches that REP Fitness sells. The main reason is that it’s a flat, Incline, and decline bench with 7 different positions.

It’s made of 7 and 11 gauge steel, just like the AB-5200, so it’s just as stable and durable.

If you want an incredible bench that delivers solid value, this is the bench you want to get.

The other main reason I would recommend this is that it’s cheaper than Rogues’ most expensive flat bench, but it’s obviously adjustable. This gives a wider range of exercises you can do, which is important for a home gym.

Best Flat – FB-5000 Comp Flat Bench

The best flat bench that Rep Fitness makes is the FB-5000 Comp Flat Bench

This thing is an actual tank constructed from 11 gauge steel and is rated for 1,000 lbs.

It also has a 3 post design, which allows you to set your feet wherever you like, just like in a powerlifting competition.

If you want, you can even choose a wide pad to give you a more stable position to press from.

This allows you to lift heavier weights with better stability so you can bench safe and strong.

If you want a competition style powerlifting bench specifically for the bench press, this is your best bet.

Runner Up Flat – FB-3000 Flat Bench

The runner up bench that rep fitness offers is the FB-3000 Flat Bench

This bench is heavy-duty, rated for 700 lbs, and is around $60 less than Rogues budget bench option with similar specs.

If you just want a solid budget bench and don’t plan on benching over 600 lbs, this bench will handle everything you throw at it.

Rep Fitness Dumbbells

Next up, we have Rep Fitness dumbbells, which are basically impossible to get for a good price, as I’ve stated in my Rogue guide.

Every option I’ve looked into has cost a couple grand for a full set, which in most people’s minds is at least 5-100 lbs.

If you have the money and want to get some solid dumbbells, REP has some decent options for you to check out.

Best – REP Urethane Coated Round Dumbbell Sets

Rep Fitness’s best dumbbells are their REP Urethane Coated Round Dumbbell Sets

These are available from 5 up to 150 lbs, which is all that most people will require for most dumbbell movements.

These dumbbells are coated in urethane, which is extremely resistant to abrasion and will show less age over time than rubber dumbbells.

These also have a round dumbbell design, which gives them a sleek look, and the best part is they actually have fully knurled handles for the best grip possible.

If you want the best dumbbells possible from REP, these are what you want to get.

Runner-Up – REP Rubber Hex Dumbbell Sets

The runner up dumbbells that REP has are their REP Rubber Hex Dumbbell Sets

These have fully knurled handles with a hex design, so they won’t roll around between sets. The other benefit to these is that they’re much cheaper than REPs’ Urethane dumbbells with the same performance.

If you get the full 5-100 lb set, they’re around $3,000 less, which is a huge saving.

You can even add a Rep dumbbell set storage rack to keep your home gym nice and tidy.

These are the cheapest dumbbells you can get from REP, but they’re still better than many dumbbells out there without knurled handles.

Rep Fitness Power Racks

Next up, we have the most important piece of equipment you need for a home gym, and it’s also the one that REP Fitness specializes in.

Power Racks!

While they might not have as many options as Rogue or even Titan, that’s completely fine. The options they do have are incredible and have a growing list of accessories you can get to further expand your garage gym.

Let’s check them out now!

Best – REP PR-5000 V2 Power Rack

The absolute best rack that they sell is the REP PR-5000 V2 Power Rack

This thing is an absolute beast!

The PR-5000 is constructed entirely of 11 gauge steel with 1″ hardware for maximum stability.

This rack has a 4-way laser cut design that allows you to use many different accessories on it, depending on your needs.

Some of these attachments include the following:

  • Lat/Low Row Attachment. You can literally add a lat pulldown system into your rack, which is a huge space saver compared to investing in a separate piece of equipment.
  • Leg rollers. These are great for single-leg movements such as split squats and holding you down while doing pulldowns.
  • Dip attachment
  • Band pegs
  • Landmine attachments
  • Weight horns
  • Front foot extensions
  • Different safeties and j-cups
  • Different pullup bars
  • Belt squat
  • Store
  • Spotter arms
  • Iso-Lever Arms and more!

Seriously they’re adding so many new attachments it’s crazy to see what they’ll have available in the coming years.

If you want the absolute best power rack possible, the REP PR-5000 V2 Power Rack is what you want to get!

Runner Up – REP PR-4000 Power Rack

The runner up power rack they make is the REP PR-4000 Power Rack

This might be considered a runner up, but it’s very similar to the PR-5000.

The PR-4000 has ?” hardware instead of the 1″ that the PR-5000 has.

The uprights are also slightly different in that the PR-4000 has 2″ spacing through most of them but also has Westside spacing through the bench area. This assists in getting a more accurate position for your j-cups and safeties.

The PR-4000 also has multiple choices for the cross-members. You can select between 24, 30″ if you want a smaller footprint. While also being able to pick 41″ for the highest stability possible.

The other thing great thing about the PR-4000 is that it also has options for weight storage, lat and low rows, belt squat, iso-lever arms, and more, just like its big brother does.

If you want the best value rack from REP, the PR-4000 is your best bet!

Budget – REP PR-1100 Home Gym Power Rack

Budget REP Power Rack
REP PR-1100 Home Gym Power Rack

This rack is rated at 700 lbs and allows you to add a bunch of different accessories based on your own individual needs.

Buy Now Learn More

Finally, we have REPs’ budget option, the REP PR-1100 Home Gym Power Rack

This rack has a lot of great things going for it. The main positive is its cheap price tag for the base model.

If you don’t get any special attachments, it costs less than $300, which is insane for its build quality and the unique attachments you can also get.

You won’t find this option for any Amazon racks I’ll tell you that!

The main features about this bar that I think are worth mentioning include the following:

  • Multi-Grip Pullup Bar – Having a pullup bar for wide-grip, chinups, or neutral grip pullups is awesome, considering most racks in this range only have a straight pullup bar.
  • Numbered Uprights – Having numbered uprights is a huge help when you’re trying to line up your j-cups. It really is a huge headache when they aren’t numbered, so this is a really nice feature.
  • Plastic Lined J-Cups – Most crappy j-cups I’ve seen are pure steel without any protective coating. This will slowly wear down your barbell so having a plastic lining is an awesome plus to protect your bars.
  • Extended Safeties – Some racks in this price range don’t come with strong safeties, which is a problem when training alone. Having extended safeties just makes your workouts safer so you can crush your goals and stay injury-free.

If you’re just starting out building your home gym, the PR-1100 is probably the best budget rack you can get.

You can slowly add attachments to expand your gym options and still get stronger over time with its 700 lb weight capacity.

This power rack is the perfect choice for a home gym, and you can add a lot of the same attachments that you can get with the bigger PR-4000 and PR-5000 models.

RELATED CONTENT  Best Ways To Buy Weight Plates - Find Cheap Weight Plates

If you want the best power rack at an incredible price, the PR-1100 is what I recommend you get.

The only bad thing I can say about this rack is that it has 3″ hole spacing on the uprights, which might make it awkward unracking depending on your structure.

Regardless of the price, it’s a small negative that you’ll have to workaround.

Rep Fitness has many options for weight plates, between competition bumper plates to standard iron plates, they have it all! The cool thing is that many of them are priced very well, so you won’t spend a ton on marked-up plates.

We’ll start with their best and runner up bumpers, followed by iron plates as well!

Best Bumper – REP Competition Bumper Plates (LB)

The best bumper plates they currently make are the REP Competition Bumper Plates.

These are priced around $2.50 per lb, which is an excellent price considering that they’re competition-style bumpers with a zinc-coated steel disc insert, which helps with durability and provides a low bounce for the Olympic lifts.

They’re also color coated green, yellow, blue, and red for 25, 35, 45, and 55 lbs, respectively.

Suppose you’re interested in competition style bumper plates that are actually a really good value. In that case, the REP Competition Bumper Plates are for you!

Runner-Up Bumper – REP Color Bumper Plates

Reps runner up bumper plates is the REP Color Bumper Plates!

These plates are perfect if you want an affordable pair of plates for the big 3, Olympic weightlifting, and even CrossFit style training.

The REP Color Bumper Plates are sold in pairs from 10 lbs up to 55 lbs, which is great for those that are just started out with the Olympic lifts or just regular old Deadlifting.

The fantastic thing about these plates is that they’re priced even better than REP’s competition plates!

The 10 and 15 lb plates are more specialized equipment, so they cost a little more at $2.35 and $1.80 per lb.

However, the 25-55 lb plates only range from $1.50-$1.68 per lb. These are still incredibly affordable, considering that the standard that people are selling these off-market is at a minimum of $2 per lb for basic iron plates.

Getting bumper plates as low as $1.50 per lb is one of the best deals you’re going to get.

The REP Color Bumper Plates also have low bounce as well so you don’t have to worry about chasing the bar around.

According to REP, they also have a thinner profile than most bumper plates, so you can fit up to 515 lbs on a standard barbell.

Considering all of these points, these are some of the best budget bumper plates on the market.

If you want some nice budget bumper plates, the REP Color Bumper Plates are for you!

Best Iron – REP Equalizer Iron Olympic Plates

The best iron plates they sell are the REP Equalizer Iron Olympic Plates.

The equalizer plates were formerly called the “Rep Hex Plates,” but they renamed them for obvious reasons.

These have a nice design with a built-in grip to easily rack and unrack your weights.

They also have a machine drilled hole that allows the plates to fit tightly on the bar, and the best part is that these plates are only around $1.36 per lb if you buy one of the sets they have available.

This is one of the cheapest sets you’re going to find for iron plates, and they have a higher quality than others that are being sold at $2+ per lb.

If you want some solid, smooth, machined plates at a budget price that is high quality, the REP Equalizer Iron Olympic Plates are for you!
